MISSISSAUGA, Ontario—Linda and Paul Callegari had never seen Shen Yun Performing Arts before, and discovered it was an uplifting experience as well as an eye-opening one.
“It’s very enlightening and it’s very uplifting,” said Mr. Callegari after seeing the performance at the Living Arts Centre on March 23.
“He’s right. It just uplifts you, makes you feel so good,” Mrs. Callegari added. “I didn’t know what to expect, and visually it’s just, it’s stunning to watch ... it’s gorgeous.”
Amir Kamel, an engineer, was also uplifted by the artistic introduction to “China before communism.”
“It’s also really, really, good to know a lot of different ethnicities, backgrounds, cultures. And that’s all amazing through shows like this. It makes the world more close and more accessible,” Mr. Kamel said.
“I think it’s going back to the simplest forms. I feel this was China in its simplicity and its beauty,” he said, showing what “communism destroys.”
“I really wish China goes back to its elegance and to its natural state. So, things can go in the road of prosperity again. And also, for all the world to be seeing the real beauty of China,” he said.
