THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.—Expecting couple, Nathan and Maricris Hyland, came to see Shen Yun Performing Arts on March 25, 2025, and they were pleased to share that the performance was both entertaining and thought-provoking.
“I really liked it. Yes, it was super vibrant, very entertaining, but you know, you got some good history lessons, and it was thought-provoking too,” said Nathan Hyland, an international business consultant.
“You guys are incredible. I do martial arts, like I appreciate the beauty and movement, and they were flawless, so well trained. You can tell they’re really enjoying themselves. Everything kind of came out very artistically and flawlessly. Job well done,” Mr. Hyland shared.
“I learned a lot about the vibrance of the culture, the little fun facts between each segment about the history of Chinese theater, and a lot of the moves I didn’t realize originated in Chinese theater. Gymnastics, and martial arts, and other types of activities that I guess have borrowed some of those movements. So yes, [I] learned lots of cool stuff,” Mr. Hyland said.
“You see the orchestra at the start, but I forgot there’s an orchestra here because it’s so seamless,” said Maricris Hyland, an expert fitness.
Shen Yun’s use of its digital backdrop is patented. The versatility of technology allows the set to change scenes in the blink of an eye, giving the stage endless possibilities.
