NEW YORK—Realtor Sheriff Iguaran hopped on a plane from Florida to New York just to catch Shen Yun’s evening performance at the Lincoln Center on April 13.
“For me, it was a bit beyond [just professionalism]—I see the heart and the spirit and the soul of this performance. It was not just a show, it was a bit more.”Based in New York, Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company. The artists’ mission is to bring back China’s 5,000 years of divinely-inspired culture that had been destroyed by decades of communist rule.
Prior to the regime’s spread of atheism, the teachings of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Daoism were indelible parts of Chinese life. Shen Yun’s goal is to revive this traditional culture and share with everyone the beauty of China before communism.
A very spiritual man himself, Mr. Iguaran absolutely loved Shen Yun’s program depicting the heavens. He thought it was spectacular and extremely impressive.
“There were parts of the show that took you beyond the physical—that was one of the most important things—it was beyond what regular people see. It goes deeper and farther,” he added.
“It was interesting to see—the woman playing the two-stringed instrument—she was very sweet,” he expressed. “There was an extremely bright light [around her.] A person with so much talent—you have to have a [good] soul to have that.”
“It was majestic and fantastic.”
