DALLAS—Mr. Stefan Hofer, chairman of the board of Savant Legal Group, had seen Shen Yun Performing Arts a previous year and loved it so much he brought more friends and family to see the performance at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas, Jan. 4.
Mr. Hofer, who is also a managing director at several investment firms, loved the history that Shen Yun was able to bring forth through a well-balanced display of artistry.
“I really enjoy the artistry, the colors, the composition, the choreography, excellent performance,” Mr. Hofer said. “Excellent. Excellent artistry.”
Based in New York, Shen Yun was established in 2006 by artists from around the world to revive traditional Chinese culture through performing arts.
Mr. Hofer had been impressed by the colorful, beautiful, and traditional costumes he saw on stage.
Shen Yun creates hundreds of costume pieces season, drawing on traditional Chinese attire. According to Shen Yun’s website, the attire is said to be inspired by the heavens and “it is this special connection that made the historical Han (the majority ethnic group of China) clothing so multifaceted and rich in design.”
“I think they span the entire history of the Chinese culture with their performance, and that’s what I came here to see,” Mr. Hofer said.
