BORDEAUX, France—The audience seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Arkéa Arena on Saturday, Jan. 25, spoke afterwards of inspiration and the goodness of humanity seen in the performance.
Guillaume de Champeaux, head of procurement for a retail chain, said the performance was “frankly, exceptional.”
“It’s sumptuous!” said Mr. de Champeaux. “The sets are splendid! And I love the philosophy of this show too.”
Mr. de Champeaux was touched by “the message that the world is forgetting the good Lord. It’s very sad today, and I think it’s a sign of hope. I find it beautiful, very beautiful.”
“The dancers are phenomenally dynamic and extremely flexible. It’s very, very beautiful!” he added.
Shen Yun’s artistic level is “perfection,” said Olivier Flamant, a sales executive, and the performance was “very poetic and full of energy at the same time.”
By exposing the abuses committed by the Chinese Communist Party, Shen Yun is, according to Mr. Flamant, a vehicle for “peace.”
“It’s all good, it’s all good, it’s all very good,” he said.
“You can feel the compassion,“ he added. “You can feel the very human side connected to the divine. That’s the good side of man.”
Jean-Philippe Maté also appreciated the “poetic” side of Shen Yun.
Mr. Maté, a tech executive, was delighted to discover the connection to the divine present within Shen Yun.
“The communist regime has prevented people from expressing themselves, so [the show] is a way of expressing and explaining the history of China. The history of China is linked to the divine, humans, and humanity. It’s good to be reminded of this and to put it into music and performance. It’s a beautiful thing!” he said.
By using cutting-edge technology to tell the story of China’s ancestral history and culture, Shen Yun is, in the words of this digital executive, “a combination of past and future.”
The show is comparable to “a journey,” he said, allowing us to “connect with the world beyond” and “see something we don’t see every day. That’s the idea. I like that.”
Léo-Paul Vaurs said he had “a great time with my family” seeing Shen Yun.
This Michelin engineer was able to feel the harmony of “a very high artistic level, which mixes grace and great mastery of all their gestures with a very, very good harmony with the music.”
For Mr. Vaurs, the connection to the divine presented in the show is an art form that “connects us with things far beyond man, and that’s what this show feels like.”
Shen Yun is a vehicle for “love and beauty,” he added. “It’s Chinese culture that’s offered to us and shared around the world.”
“We come with expectations; we leave with lots of good vibes and positivity,” he confided, adding, “If everyone were to open up to other cultures, we'd have a world that would be much more harmonious and much more pleasant to live in!”
