“I am very impressed with the color. Beautiful costumes, outstanding costumes. And the [dancers] floated. The movement of the dancers is exaggerated by the costumes’ flowing and the color. And I just find myself saying, ‘ooh, ahh, and it is a beautiful show.’”

When they were playing the drums—I had never seen drums that ... are on their backs, and they have the curved drumsticks. And that ... seemed like war-like. It was just like it was supposed to be. It was beautiful.” 

“I really did think [the opening dance] was 4,000 or 5,000 years old. I said, ’this is a very rich tradition of dancing.' And it has a chain, a chain of people from one generation to the other, that for 4,000 or 5,000 years, that was what I was impressed by. An audience member just like me was watching them dance 4,000 years ago. And now, I get to see the same thing.”
