BOSTON— Kandi Crowley, an executive assistant, was deeply moved by Shen Yun Performing Arts’ evening performance on April 4, the first of five consecutive shows at the Boch Center Wang Theatre.
“It’s been exhilarating and beautiful,” she exclaimed. The animation is spot on. They drop and go up into the screen. It is amazing.”
“By extending the stage to infinite realms,” the patented 3D invention brings to the audience “storytelling without limits.”
Ms. Crowley was impressed by the artists’ dedication to reviving traditional culture. She found the performance highly educational, offering valuable insight into Chinese heritage for those who may not be familiar with it.
She also loved the live orchestra that accompanied the dancers on stage. “We keep peeking over [the pit,] looking at the orchestra. They’re absolutely phenomenal,” she said.
It is the first in the world to permanently integrate Eastern and Western instruments, offering audiences the best of both worlds.
Summing up her experience, Ms. Crowley said Shen Yun is “very spiritual and high energy and just caring and loving.” “We need that. We need more of that in the world,” she added.
Given the chance, she would like to tell the performers that “they are absolutely incredible.”
