“I’ve read about [Shen Yun] for quite some time, and I just wanted to make sure we got to it. And I thought, what do I get a woman who has everything?” said Mr. Harp.
Although it was Mr. Harp’s first time experiencing Shen Yun, he said that he'd been wanting to see it since 2008.
“It was an enjoyable event. I’ve been familiar with [Shen Yun] for years, since about 2008. I always wanted to go, and we finally did. I thought it made a very nice Christmas present for my wife and a friend of ours,” said Mr. Harp, who has become a cattle rancher after retirement.
“The lyrics were tremendous ... at least the way I interpreted it is that we are in end times—I think that’s what he said, and I agree with him. And it’s coming sooner than we all think. We need to be ready,” remarked Mr. Harp.
The digital backdrop doesn’t only project text, it is actually patented technology that Shen Yun uses to extend the stage and allow the dancers to appear to fly into the air or dive deep into the sea.
“They were amazing ... Never seen anything quite like it,” expressed Mr. Harp.
“I love the music. And it was so seamlessly integrated into the dancing that it was not until near the end of the second half that I remembered it’s actually an orchestra playing there because it’s so coordinated,” said Mr. Harp.
