HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Radio host and videographer Jeremy Dayton greatly enjoyed Shen Yun’s evening performance on April 6 at the Dolby Theatre.

Not only was he stunned by the show’s beauty, Mr. Dayton thought the program was “very deep” and “included a lot of symbolism.”

“[The dancing] was really rhythmic, and the music is great. It’s just fun to watch, especially with the [3D] background. The integration of the digital and [the live action]—the blending of those two worlds—is a lot of fun,” he said during intermission.

“I feel like there are many parallels between Christianity and the [spirituality] depicted in this. The battle of good versus evil is really compelling so far. It’s beautiful to watch.”

The New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts was founded in 2006 by elite Chinese artists who had fled the persecution of the communist party.

For 5,000 years, China’s civilization flourished under the shared belief that the divine will bless those who uphold traditional moral values. Tragically, within just a few decades of the communist party’s violent takeover, these beliefs were erased and replaced with atheism.
The mission of Shen Yun artists is to return to the world’s stage—the glory and beauty of China’s 5,000 years of divinely inspired culture.
For precisely this reason, the company is currently banned by the ruling communist regime from performing in China.

“[The artists’] efforts are amazing. It’s really sad that they’re not able to show something like this in [China], but I’m grateful that we’re able to watch it here,” Mr. Dayton said.

“Then, hopefully, we can do whatever we can to integrate that culture wherever we can because it’s beautiful.”

Mr. Dayton believes that “God can use all things for good for those that love him. So, anybody that’s seeking truth, they can find elements of that in [the show] for sure.”

“I think [Shen Yun] could be a pathway for people to find salvation if they’re looking after their neighbors, which [the performance] has really depicted well.”

Last but not least, Mr. Dayton would like to thank the performers for all that they’ve done.

“It’s a beautiful blending of art and dance and music and theater. There are not many things that you can look at, and get positive values from as far as morals,” he expressed.
“Everything else in the world is throwing morals upside down. [Shen Yun] is putting morals back where they should be.”
