ROSEMONT, Ill.— Project manager Pedro Reyes said Shen Yun Performing Arts gave him “a good feeling” when he attended the company’s evening performance at the Rosemont Theatre for the first time on April 26.
“The whole presentation is very good. The music is wonderful, it’s very calming, very sweet, very soft. The whole show is very good,” he said.
The dancing was “amazing, incredible. The choreography is perfect, all of the dances are well-choreographed, all of their timing—everything is very good.”
For 5,000 years, China’s civilization flourished under the shared belief that the divine will bless those who uphold traditional moral values. Tragically, within just a few decades of the communist party’s violent takeover, these beliefs were erased and replaced with atheism.
“There’s a lot of messages [about] the Buddhas. At the beginning, they all came to rescue the whole planet. The creator called upon deities to follow him to the earth to establish a civilization to rescue this planet,” Mr. Reyes said.
“It’s a good feeling. I’m glad somebody is helping us. [we’re] beloved by the higher beings above.”
The story conveys the message that if people are willing to uphold traditional moral values and treat each other with kindness, the divine will aid us in times of trouble.
“There are moments when you feel touched,” Mr. Reyes expressed. “One of [Shen Yun’s] accomplishments is that it gets the message out [and] make people aware of what’s going on. These people are punished for doing no harm to anybody. They should be allowed to do their practice.”
