PHOENIX—Construction company owner Shannon Pulcifer attended Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Phoenix Orpheum on Feb. 18.
“God created us with the ability to laugh, love, and enjoy life. That was His purpose for us,” he elaborated. “We’re very close to the time when we will be restoring God’s original purpose.”
“In this world, there’s been too much focus on technology, and people have gotten away from caring about each other,” he said. “[We] allow governments and politics to influence how we think.”
“Getting back to who we were—the way God created us—we wouldn’t have prejudice, we wouldn’t have war, we wouldn’t have crime or violence.”
“It’s wonderful and very enjoyable,” Ms. Tang expressed. “Every time, it’s a brand-new, exciting experience. I loved the performers, they’re so uniformed and pretty.”
Mr. Faron chimed in that he was “fascinated by Shen Yun’s choreography, costumes, and stories.”
Shen Yun is now the world’s top classical Chinese dance and music company and can be expected to present a brand-new set of programs to its worldwide audience every year.
Referring to the company’s mission, Ms. Tang thought Shen Yun did a good job in showcasing their message and expressing the artists’ viewpoints.
“I feel that it’s well-expressed. The way it was performed was very truthful and very honest,” she said.
“I feel like I’m learning. It gives me more insight into my own culture,” she said. “Obviously I didn’t live in that time period, but it’s a wonderful experience to understand my heritage and where I come from.”
