AUSTIN, Texas—On the evening of Dec. 28, the audience at the Long Center for the Performing Arts was moved to laughter and tears as Shen Yun took the stage for its fourth and penultimate performance in Austin.
Among the attendees was Kevin Gallagher, the president of a software company. He thought it was a phenomenal experience.
“It was amazing. The dancers, the background, the colors ... all very beautiful,” he said. “As soon as the curtains opened—all of it—it’s appealing to the eyes as it is appealing to the heart and appealing to the senses.”
Filled with captivating stories and legends, vibrant costumes, breathtaking backdrops, and original music—the company promises an experience that will delight your senses and uplift your spirit.
“I think it’s fantastic. I love the company and the mix of technology with dance.”
The company’s patented technology seamlessly interacts with the performers to create a stage that extends into infinite realms, bringing stories vividly to life for the audience.
Gallagher was also stunned by how committed the artists were to their craft, stating that it’s easy to see and feel “the passion of what they are doing” because It’s “evident in their dance.”
“Creating something new, bringing something new to the forefront—because that’s also what I do in my career—and show that you are mentoring and guiding, that was very inspirational,” he said.
For this same reason, he especially enjoyed Shen Yun’s story-based dance about a schoolmaster from ancient China who, while disciplining his unruly students, shares an interesting story from his own youth to inspire the youngsters to work hard.
“The one with the teacher and the students—it’s just quite moving what [the character] had to go through and endure to find the love of his life again, and to find that the [divine] being was able to help him come back to reality—inspirational.”
Consolidating everything that he’d learned from the evening, Gallagher said he would take home the message to “never give up, keep trying, and don’t let others keep you down.”
