LAS VEGAS—CEO and business consultant Michelle Prince-Glenn enjoyed Shen Yun Performing Arts’ matinee at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 28. She thought the program was “absolutely spectacular.”
“I loved it, I loved it,” she exclaimed. “Just the beauty of the performance itself—the costumes, the dancing, the talent of the staff—was absolutely amazing.
“I’ve never been exposed to that, and to be able to see the different cultural dances that they brought in—the beauty of all that was very eye-opening and beautiful,” she stated.
Reflecting on the artists’ message about upholding traditional values, Ms. Prince-Glenn said she learned the importance of “being one with nature” and practicing kindness.
“That [message] came through in each of the dances and [in] each of the areas that they showed—just humankind being there for you, your fellow man—and there’s the beauty between that and nature, the symbiotic nature was beautiful to see.”
“It takes a lot of courage for what they’re doing. In learning more about the struggles that they have in their home country, and to be able to come here and start [Shen Yun,] and to take that message and the beauty of this production globally—to have 8 companies and to be able to have a new performance every year—that’s a lot of dedication, a lot of work and creativity,” she said.
“So, kudos to the entire staff, the whole organization, the educational company—well done. Very well done.”
Shen Yun is loved by audiences around the world. However, because of the company’s commitment to exposing the reality of life under communist rule in China, the ruling regime has banned it from performing in China.
Ms. Prince-Glenn said she “would come see [Shen Yun] again, over and over.” She encourages everyone who hasn’t seen the performance to seize the opportunity because “it’s almost an escape to come and see the beauty that’s there. And the dance... it was called the dance of the divine— [it expresses our] inner nature, inner human.”
“That is just really beautiful to see. I think everyone should take the time come see it, and just experience the beauty of it all,” she added.
