OMAHA, Neb.—“The dance techniques are amazing. I’ve never seen anything like that before,” said Tamara Bruno after seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts on Saturday evening at the Orpheum Theater.

New York-based Shen Yun has four touring companies that perform in at least 100 cities in 20 countries each season.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive traditional Chinese culture through the fine arts of Chinese classical dance, orchestral music, and beautiful artistry.

Ms. Bruno is Construction Project Manager for Bruno Contractors. She came to the performance this evening with Jeremy Thielen, IT consultant for R&D Industries.

“It’s pretty upbeat and lively, it’s real good,” Mr. Thielen explained. “My daughter would really love this, I could see that kids would really like it a lot,” he pointed out.

Ms. Bruno said the performance was very interesting and entertaining. She commented,“It’s hard to not stay awake, kind of on the edge of your seat watching them jump and leap.”

According to Shen Yun’s website, “Chinese classical dance is at the heart of what Shen Yun does. Known for its incredible flips and spins, and its gentile elegance, it is one of the most rigorous and expressive art forms in the world.”

She was amazed by the dancers’ high speed and high-energy. “It is a learning experience,” she added.

Ms. Bruno believes young people would truly appreciate the performance by Shen Yun. She would tell her friends “... to definitely bring their young teenage girls ... and boys—it'd be fascinating to them”
