MISSISSAUGA, Ontario—Mississauga City Councilor Chris Ainsworth and his wife saw Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time at the Living Arts Centre on March 22 and saw in the performance something magical.
“We’re absolutely blown away by the dancing, the music. It’s just so magical!” Mr. Ainsworth said. “I’m blown away by the culture, by the costumes, by the dancers, by the high-flying moves that they do. Everything is just over the top and just beautiful.”
Mr. Ainsworth said he comes from a region where 140 different languages are spoken, and he saw in Shen Yun many different ethnic cultures from a vast and varied China.
“You get to know the different ethnic groups and the different areas of China, and you get to see them all come together, but yet they’re all different in their own special way,” he said. “You have a fabulous representation of all different parts of China, from what I’ve seen. And again, it’s just very magical!”
“I’m going to leave here tonight, I think, feeling very good about myself, good about everybody around me. It’s just, again, it’s so magical,” Mr. Ainsworth said. “It’s definitely hopeful. It gives me hope, gives me my spirit, makes me feel complete.”
“You know, by being here, it brings your Zen together and causes you to feel complete,” he said. “It’s the perfect event to be at for the year.”
