WORCESTER, Mass.—Shen Yun Performing Arts captivated the audience at the Hanover Theatre on March 30. Patrick and Diane Dipietro said an energy coming from the stage showed itself very strongly to them during the performance.
Mr. Diepietro, who owns the bookstore Metaphysical and Magical Shop and Healing Center, said he could feel energy and see its shape. “The shape—well, purples, pinks, and white colors that bring forth the cause of the day, what’s happening—very spiritual, very strong,” he said.
Mr. Diepietro said the energy was everywhere and he could see angels behind the dancers who are “very graceful, very strong—omnipresent.”
“[The energy] is from the dancers; it’s from everybody else around here,” he explained.
In describing the energy flowing from the stage, Mrs. Diepietro, a librarian, said the energy was “like an emanating glow, just like a ball that just gets larger and larger” and fills “everywhere. When I’m staring at [the performance], it starts in the middle and moves out from the stage. But it’s in each of the dancers.”
“It’s energy from within. It’s showing a culture in a form that is not so much in this country sometimes, but it allows you to see it in a different way,” he said.
Beautiful Stories
When the curtain opened, Mrs. Diepietro said she saw “God and light—a lot of light. And lots of energy and motion.”Mr. Diepietro said he was deeply moved. “Very emotional,” he said, referring to the dance scene where a character becomes a victim of live organ harvesting at the hands of corrupt officials in China.
“It’s quiet energy, but it’s strong energy at the same time.”
Spiritual Message
The Diepietros said they appreciated the spiritual message of Shen Yun and its importance for the modern world.“We could use a lot more spirituality in this world today,” Mr. Dipietro said. “People need to get in touch more with their spirituality.”
Shen Yun shows how people have divine origins and how they can be aware of becoming enlightened.
“That’s what it’s about,” Mr. Diepietro said. “It’s about spirituality. It’s about enlightenment. Being able to be enlightened by what you see, putting it in your own words, and sensing the feeling that surrounds you. It’s very useful and very helpful in today’s world.”
Mr. Diepietro noted the great treasure that traditional Chinese culture is to the world.
