Shen Yun ‘Brought Peace Tonight,’ Says Former Dance Teacher

NANTES, France—Martine Nossereau is a former dance teacher who has patiently waited to see her first Shen Yun performance.

“I booked two years ago to see Shen Yun, and unfortunately, with the pandemic, we had to wait to see it and we have done so today,” said the former classical dance and modern jazz teacher.

Ms. Nossereau, who lives in the Atlantic coast resort town of Royan, traveled to the city of Nantes on the Loire River to see Shen Yun.

“It is extraordinary! I went to see a lot of shows in the Paris region because of my job ... I have rarely seen performances like what I saw tonight—it’s exceptional,” she said.

“I really appreciated it,” Nossereau said. “Being in the business, I see all the work that goes into it. ... It was really beautiful. The dancers are exceptional. The choreography is beautiful, the costumes are stunning!”

Beyond the aesthetic and technical aspects, Nossereau said she experienced “a lot of emotions.”

“The dancers put joy in our hearts. At this time, with the pandemic and problems that we all have around us, their performance really gives joy to the heart. I really sincerely thank them.”

The spirituality, which has been omnipresent in the daily lives of China’s people throughout their 5,000 years of history, is also an essential element of Shen Yun that was not lost on Ms. Nossereau.

As a religious believer, she said “I felt deep inside me this kind of divine presence ... of God and everything that can surround us and I hope that—the world will calm down. We need peace and they brought peace tonight.”
