NAGOYA, Japan---Mr. Toyoda Koichi found Shen Yun as he browsed the internet and decided to go to Shen Yun’s first performance in Japan on April 19, 2016. He was captivated by the performance as he explained afterward.

“The Classical Chinese dance was exquisite and outstanding. It was very enjoyable,” praised Mr. Toyoda, manager the Aichi Branch of MIE Toyota Co. Ltd., after he was truly amazed by the performance at the Aichi Arts Center.

He said that the program was spectacular and it made him feel very happy and relaxed. “It was my first time seeing this kind of performance. The show was very unique as it was full of spiritual implications that brought positive energy to people,” he explained.

“With the synchronization of classical Chinese dance and the music with Chinese characteristics, the performance was very enjoyable. Those artists are highly skilled and beautiful. Their dance movements were in great precision. Besides, they seamlessly coordinated with the digital animated backdrops. They must have undergone a certain level of rigorous training,” he said.

Mr. Toyoda said that he really liked the erhu performance: “The sounds of the erhu are really unique and beautiful. The erhu performance came to an end even before I knew it,” he added.

“The erhu is one of the most important Chinese instruments, with a history of over 4,000 years. Though it has only two strings, it can convey a wide range of emotions,” according to Shen Yun’s Website. “The erhu is incredibly expressive, capable of imitating sounds from chirping birds to neighing horses.”

In the end, Mr. Toyoda said that he was more than ready to recommend Shen Yun to his friends.

Japanese dance teacher Saika Makoto was also impressed with the sold-out show at Aichi Arts Center on the evening of April 19. She was especially stunned by Shen Yun’s digital backdrops. “Amazing! It was my first time to see a performance like this. Though Japanese dance performances do use backdrops as well, I’ve never seen such a magnificent one,” she explained.

“Shen Yun weaves a wondrous tapestry of heavenly realms, ancient legends, and modern heroic tales, taking you on a journey through 5,000 years of Chinese culture. Its stunning beauty and tremendous energy leave audiences uplifted and inspired,” according to Shen Yun’s official website.

“Shen Yun’s mission of reviving traditional culture is remarkable. Overall, it was fabulous. I was very lucky to see this performance. When will the show be here next year? I am looking forward to it now,” she said.
