WASHINGTON—Floyd Brown was deeply moved when he experienced Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time.
“It was overwhelming. And just beautiful, absolutely magnificent,” said Mr. Brown, who attended the performance on March 1 at The Kennedy Center Opera House. Mr. Brown is an author and commentator, former CEO of USA Radio Network, and founder of Citizens United.
He said he saw in Shen Yun “amazing beauty in the ancient Chinese dance and culture and music.”
Traditional Chinese culture is divinely inspired culture, and Shen Yun programs show this connection between the heavens and humankind.
Mr. Brown said he found the stories wonderful, and the heavenly scenes and vivid animation to be “unbelievable” in their beauty.
“I believe deeply in the spiritual realm,” he said. “I enjoy that. And I really appreciated the stand against atheism, which is a rot in modern society.”
“And to the extent that we connect with our roots in traditional culture, I think it makes us stronger and better able to deal with the struggles and difficulties of life. We need to know about the beliefs of our ancestors,” he said.
