ŁÓDŹ, Poland—Concert pianist Swietłana Dumańska felt uplifted by Shen Yun Performing Arts, inspired by the art not only as a musician herself but emotionally.
“It had a good impact on me personally,” she said. In addition to performing as a pianist, Ms. Dumańska serves as the deputy director of a music school, and organizer and jury member of the Juliusz Zarębski International Music Competition.
The music and dance “has a very soothing effect on the mind, on emotions, balance. It creates such an aura, a very peaceful and calm mood,” she said.
“All anxieties, sorrows, and perhaps fears disappear. I feel safe and happy,” Ms. Dumańska said.
“I didn’t expect that one could develop skills like this by training or educating oneself on this instrument ... [and] that one could reach such virtuosity, such heights of performance art on just two strings,” Ms. Dumańska said.
“[Shen Yun’s music] has a very soothing effect, that is, so healing,“ she added. ”[Even if] someone has some emotional problems, [after listening] it all goes far away, and [they are replaced by] positive and pleasant emotions. I’m surrounded by this aura of peace and security, and that’s why I appreciate it so much.”
“I see in it not only great mastery, perfection of execution, great work, dedication, I also see in it such dedication to art and to the idea, dedication. And this idea, this thought strives for harmony,” she said.
“Here the mastery reaches its highest, highest heights. Thank you very, very much for the performance, for the work, for the effort, for creating a beautiful mood for us.”
