DUBLIN, Ireland—Mr. Tony Fagan, the Deputy Principal Legal Executive at the Chief State Solicitor’s Office in Ireland, said he felt that Shen Yun’s opening performance at The Convention Centre Dublin on April 19th was something truly special. “It was excellent, very spiritual, and very moving,” said Mr. Fagan.

“The performance, I thought, was absolutely excellent, beautiful to watch and very expressive,” he said.

According to the Shen Yun website, “A show like Shen Yun can no longer be found in China today, because many of China’s best artistic traditions have been lost in recent decades.”

Indeed, due to the Chinese communist regime’s suppression of artistic expression, Shen Yun cannot tour in China today. Commenting on this unfortunate fact, Mr. Fagan said: “It was interesting … that the performers wouldn’t be able to express themselves like this in China. I think Shen Yun [performers] are reviving Chinese culture, and it is very welcome.”

He said, “I would absolutely recommend it [Shen Yun]. It is more about the spirit of China than what we hear lately about the commerce and finance and industry in China. This [Shen Yun] is very much the other side, the spiritual side. It was great to watch.”

Mr. Fagan said he loved the lotus flower dance called Lotuses in Bloom. “It was beautiful, very expressive. … The emphasis for me was more on the visual than [with] Irish entertainment, which is based more on sound.

“This was about vision, sight, and spirituality. It was a fantastic experience.”
