“I just think it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s interesting to see these classic and ethnic dances from China. The dancers are superb and the costumes are beautiful,” said Mrs. Dressel, a CEO of a healthcare IT company. She and Mr. Dressel, a retired engineer, saw the performance at The Benedum Center for the Performing Arts on April 26.
“I imagine it’s very important from a Chinese culture perspective. For someone who’s not Chinese, it’s extremely interesting to learn about a culture that I think is generally difficult to understand. I mean, we don’t have much exposure to it, so it’s really interesting,” Mrs. Dressel said.
“I think one of the most cool and surprising things is the combination of the CGI and the dancers. It looks so flawless. It looks real. It’s amazing,” Mrs. Dressel said. “It’s incredible.”
Mr. Dressel agreed, adding that it was “hard to believe it’s real.”
“I was sitting here trying to figure out how they do it,” he said.
Mrs. Dressel felt the “beauty of the culture” was what came through most strongly in the performance.
“Just the beauty and authenticity and peacefulness,” she said.
