ROME, Italy—After seven years, Rome will once again receive Shen Yun Performing Arts to grace its stage. Shen Yun will perform at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma from Feb. 1 through Feb. 5.

The rest of Italy has been enjoying Shen Yun’s 2025 all-new season to great acclaim.

Giovan Battista Antongiovanni, a doctor who saw Shen Yun in Bergamo this year, praised the dancers. “Their talent is a show of grace and beauty that they convey to others. Their dedication and sacrifice are truly a gift to the audience,” he said.

“It was an extraordinary performance because it expressed the internal energy of each dancer,” said Egidio De Biase, a business owner from Milan. “They lived it with enthusiasm, perfect choreography, and extraordinary visual artistry.”

High school teacher Rafaella Gagliardi saw Shen Yun in Torino: “I was impressed by the balance with [the dances] showing power, beauty, and liveliness. [The dancers] don’t even seem human. They’re not heavy; they fly when they dance and have such an openness to their movements. It’s like they’re creatures in the sky.”

Many were impressed by the performers’ power that seemed to fill the venue. “Energy comes from so many things. It comes from the colors, it comes from the dance, the movements, the synchronicity,” Giovanni Cardinale, a doctor who attended the Torino performance.

“You can’t imagine the emotion until you’ve experienced it. Then, you’re overwhelmed with feelings, and your heart is filled with these beautiful messages,” said Antonio Marino, a technical designer from Torino.

Not only the performers on stage, but the set and technology amazed theatergoers.

“The technological aspect, with the digital screen as a background, is very pleasant, interactive, and dynamic,” said Elisa Napolitano, a biomedical engineer at the Torino performance who noted how seamlessly the animated 3D backdrop interacts with the performers on stage.

“This is truly an exceptional show. It is one of the most beautiful shows I have ever seen,” said Renato Testaquadra, a former bank executive from Milan. “The set design, backgrounds, I cannot conceive how these backgrounds were created.”

Of course, those from the home of opera loved Shen Yun’s live orchestra, which accompanies the performers on stage and features a blend of Eastern and Western instruments.

“This mixture of Western instruments and Eastern instruments works. It contains new sounds, but they also sound familiar to our ears. It’s very engaging music,” said Enrico Nosari, a lawyer from Bergamo.

“I loved the perfect music and the wonderful orchestra. It really welcomes you inside and doesn’t leave you listening from the outside. Instead, you feel enveloped and a part of the [show],” said Elena Diacono, a business owner from Milan.

Audience members appreciated Shen Yun’s efforts in conveying a deeper message.

“Shen Yun can really stir the consciences, to give hope. And just with beauty and harmony, it calls forth this nostalgia, which is in every person, even if it is stifled by the media and these messages that go against the law of nature and also against the divine laws,” said Cristina Siccardi, a journalist and writer who attended the Torino performance.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive the traditional culture of China before communism. The spiritual message of hope and love left Italian audiences with happiness that was hard to put into words.

“We are very pleased with the serenity, harmony, and message of hope” that the music and dance gave, said Marco Vincenti, a former company executive from Torino.

“The audience empathizes so much with this performance. You relate with your heart, with your soul, with your whole self,” said former bank executive from Milan, Renato Testaquadra.

“Congratulations to everyone, the musicians and artists, who were truly splendid,” Mr. Marino said. “Come and see the performance because it is unique. And I really think there are no other opportunities to see a performance that is so real.”

Ms. Gagliardi said, “I haven’t felt such a deep emotion in a long time. It was an angelic show.”
