“The show was beautiful,” said Mr. Vallas. “It was incredibly entertaining. The dancing was beautiful. The costumes were amazing. I really appreciated the beauty. It was lovely.”
Shen Yun’s program comprises of a number of dance vignettes, songs performed in the traditional bel canto style, and an erhu solo. An erhu is a traditional Chinese stringed instrument with only two strings, but it can express a wide range of emotions. The erhu solo captivated Mr. Vallas.
“It was a beautiful instrument and the way [the soloist] played it and the way it was all put together it was just beautiful,” he said. “The tone was beautiful. It was delicate and it just seemed to go with everything else.”
Mr. Vallas said that he had gone to school in Taiwan, which was why he had “a different appreciation for Asian culture and the beauty that’s there.” He said Shen Yun’s beauty brought him back to his school days in Taiwan.
“It was all beautiful,” Mr. Vallas added. “I just had an appreciation for it. I really did.”
“One of the things that distinguishes this show from others is the element of technology that you have in the show with [the] classic dancing,” he said. “I’ve never seen a show like that before. The fact that they physically get into the screen, and then there’s something happening in the background, and then [they come] the same way from the background to the actual stage. I thought that was very neat.”
“Really well put together show. Very professional.” said Mr. Rivera. “The music was spot on. The artists all perform well. Definitely the director did a really good job at picking up the right individuals and putting it up together. So I would definitely recommend this to anyone that would like to come and have a good time and see something different.”
