WASHINGTON, D.C.—Radovan Javorčík, a diplomat, greatly enjoyed seeing the divinely inspired Chinese culture come to life through Shen Yun Performing Arts.
New York-based Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization
Mr. Javorčík could see the significance of Shen Yun’s mission.
“Culture is the spirit of the nation and every ethnic group. So if you don’t have a culture, your ethnic group has no future, no bond, which guides you through. It guides you through good times and bad times, and most importantly, the bad times,” he said.
“So if you are having a downturn, the culture, your past, and the colorfulness of your language, of your dance, of your theatre, brings you back to your roots, to your family, and to your values, and it’s very important.”
“Every society is learning from the history, so we have to know where we are coming from, where are our roots, and to cherish the past of our cultures and nations,” he said.
“I appreciate every opportunity to learn something from the history of any culture.”
