“Really immersive. It was really quite good. We’re up in the upper circle and looking down on it, and you get a wide view. It’s really, really good, and the synchronism of the dancers is incredible,” said Mr. Frost, a retired network designer.
“Marvellous, really. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s really quite interesting that you’ve got live performers and also the backdrop, and the performers disappear into the backdrop. I’ve never seen it done anywhere, ever,” said Mr. Frost.
Shen Yun is based in New York, and its mission is to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization—a China before communism.
“I think that’s excellent in this day and age that you can do things like that. You’ve obviously put an enormous amount of work into this. I can’t believe the amount of work that must have gone into it,” said Mr. Frost.
Mr. Frost lived in Hong Kong for three months while it was still a part of the British empire.
“When I was in Hong Kong we did go to some shows—and they’re quite noisy with lots of symbols and and lots of makeup and things like that,” he said.
“Really nice. The costumes are just second to none,” praised Mr. Frost.
