ŁÓDŹ, Poland—Multiple generations came to see Shen Yun Performing Arts together at the Grand Theater in Łódź. Among the audience on March 16 was Antoni Ptak and his wife, Agnieszka, with their granddaughters, Aleksandra and Amelia.

“I liked it very much. We are impressed by Chinese culture and the fact that we can see it in Poland,” said Antoni Ptak, one of the richest people in Poland. He is known as the founder of the Ptak business empire.

Shen Yun is based in New York, and its mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture. Mr. Ptak expressed his amazement at Shen Yun’s portrayal of the ancient civilization.

“We are surprised that you could show [traditional Chinese values] so beautifully,” he said.

Shen Yun presents the best of China before communism and for this reason, it is not able to perform in China.

The couple said they were lucky to be able to see China’s culture. “It’s a pity that the situation in China is not how it should be now,” said Ms. Ptak.

“[Chinese culture] is something unique. What you showed just now is very touching,” Mr. Ptak added.

Shen Yun puts on an all-new production every year, and each detail is rehearsed to perfection before it reaches the audience.

“The synchronicity here is really amazing. ... I hope they will continue to show their outstanding talents to the world. They are really doing a great job,” praised Mr. Ptak.

Three generations of Jarosław Podsiadło’s family enjoyed Shen Yun’s afternoon performance on March 16.

The family was highly impressed by Shen Yun’s patented digital backdrop.

“[Shen Yun] combined new technology with traditional dance and music. We could really enjoy a great performance,” said Ms. Podsiadło, a business consultant and company owner.
While experiencing Shen Yun, Mr. Podsiadło noticed similarities between Chinese and Polish history.

“I think that we have a lot in common when it comes to history. That’s because, in our history, we were also repeatedly repressed by the communist regime. So, all those scenes that referred to the persecution of Chinese youth were very moving for us,” he shared.

Mr. Podsiadło believes that Shen Yun has taken on an important mission of letting audiences know the true face of communism.

“I think it’s a great idea. I think it’s waking people up to the idea that China needs to be liberated,” he said.
