CHEYENNE, Wyo.—Cheryl Anderson, an accountant, believes that her daughters should have culture incorporated into their lives. And there is no better way to do so than bringing her daughters to Shen Yun Performing Arts.
“I loved it. Both of my daughters have danced all their lives, and they’ve both also been involved in theater production growing up, so this was a great experience for them as well,” said Ms. Anderson.
“I’m always up for an adventure, and I always try to find ways to incorporate culture into my daughters’ lives,” shared Ms. Anderson.
“It’s definitely something you should see, and you should see it every year. And it’s so exciting to see that it changes every year. That’s wonderful. I’m looking forward to next year already. In fact, we might go to Rapid City as well,” said Ms. Anderson.
“I think [my daughters] really enjoyed it. I think the one thing that shocked them was to see the piece about people still being killed for their organs. That was very shocking, but yet it was a good message to get out there to people to see that,” remarked Ms. Anderson.
Mackenzie Anderson, a student studying speech pathology, shared that Shen Yun’s dancing was impressive in the way that it could tell stories without the use of words.
“It was amazing. Although there were no words being spoken, we were able to perfectly know what was going on in the storylines with each individual story,” said Ms. Mackenzie Anderson.
“The costuming was wonderful. I love the combination of the background, the theater part of it, and then the dance involved in the music. Just wonderful,” said Ms. Cheryl Anderson.
“It was awesome, the orchestra, all the dancers, everything was perfectly lined up,” added Ms. Mackenzie Anderson.
“I was very impressed that she could play the instrument with two strings and play that kind of music. That was just amazing, amazing. The sound was just wonderful,” said Ms. Cheryl Anderson.
