WATERBURY, Conn.—“Everybody comes from heaven to begin with. It’s strange, but it’s really true!” Rob Uschmann, a senior engineer, said after watching Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Palace Theater on Dec. 28.
Mr. Uschmann watched the show with his friend Diana Beicke, a registered nurse. They enjoyed the Shen Yun performance and appreciated the insight into traditional Chinese culture.
Shen Yun was founded in 2006 in New York by elite  Chinese artists to revive traditional Chinese culture.

Ms. Beicke said, “It is a beautiful peak into the culture, an almost lost culture in China.”

Mr. Uschmann agreed, “They should do this more often, so [the culture] is not lost.”

Ms. Beicke was impressed with many aspects of the show, “the dancers are synchronized, graceful, athletic; the baritone was fabulous; the colors and costumes are beautiful; the costume designer did a fabulous job!”
Shen Yun Performing Arts is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company. Since its inception in 2006, Shen Yun has portrayed “China before communism” through dance and music.

Mr. Uschmann was also inspired by the folklore love story between a village boy and a fairy. “I learned that anything is possible,” he said, “you can come from different places, but you can still fall in love and be happy ever after.”

“It is perfect! You’ve got to see it!” Mr. Uschmann said.
