“It was interested to see that traditional Chinese [culture] was divine. There was a Creator, he wants to save people, he wants to take them to heaven. It gives me extra insight into why the Chinese people that I know have been respectful and gentle folk, very good-hearted. I see what the tradition really was.

“ I saw traditional values, and I saw doing good. That was the theme that ran through. I’m a proponent of the golden rule, and so I really enjoyed the fact that [there was] what I call godly human values.”
