PARIS—Shen Yun is back. The famous classical Chinese classical dance and music company, Shen Yun Performing Arts, has returned to the capital of France for the pleasure of the people of Paris.
Ronald Martinez has been a professional photographer since 2000. After starting his career as a photojournalist and participating in film shoots, this native of Annecy turned in 2012 to his passion, the great painters of the Renaissance from which he draws inspiration for his art photos.
“A lover of beauty, of a form of transcendence, he deepens his research around the light to sculpt the contours of the body and sublimate skin tones, in refined works where the border between painting and photography becomes permeable. No computer retouching in this work,” reads his website.
“Magnificent! Incredible! We have never seen this! It’s an incredible show!” he exclaimed, first inspired by “the magnificent colors!”
This devotee of the divine was able to feel “that divine side” expressed “in the scenes, and it’s beautiful, really!”
The photographer was thus touched by the tenor’s performance, who interprets his song with the authentic, traditional technique of bel canto.
“You can feel a bit of the power of the gods,” Mr. Martinez said.
“You feel it in the emotions, in the movements, in the music. My wife, who was next to me, was almost crying, because you really feel things,” he expressed, almost regretting that the show was already over.
