In early March the Shen Yun Performing Arts World Company began its European leg of their 2014 World Tour. Starting in Geneva the company travelled to 16 European cities to present dances, songs and stories that take the audience on a journey through the dynasties and regions of China, with dances showing the heavenly dress of the Tang Dynasty, Manchurian princesses of the 17th century, or the vibrant Yao village.
Shen Yun, a New-York based non-profit company, tours the world, reviving 5,000 years of Chinese culture. Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism are at the heart of Chinese culture, explains the company’s website, and the values of traditional Chinese culture are brought to the stage in Shen Yun’s story-based dances.
Here are some of the European audience members’ photos and responses to their Shen Yun experience.
New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts has four touring companies that perform simultaneously around the world. For more information, visit Shen Yun Performing Arts.
