TAICHUNG, Taiwan—“I really admire Shen Yun’s founder and choreographers for their great work that broadened my horizons. They let me see the hope for the future of Chinese arts,” said Mr. Luo Zhongyi, president of LED Lighting Green Power System Ltd.
After seeing Shen Yun performance for the second time at Taichung Chung Shan Hall on the afternoon of April 9, 2016, Mr. Luo highly praised Shen Yun for its demonstration of the essence of authentic Chinese culture.
“I’ve never in my life seen such a wonderful traditional artistic performance. Such superb dance, music, costumes, and lighting can only be seen in Shen Yun,” Mr. Luo said.
“The synchronization of color, movements, and music in Chinese dance shows and other artistic performances I saw in the past were not so exquisite. I felt Shen Yun stands out in every respect so that I couldn’t take my eyes off the performance during the show.”
Taking the dances “The Lady of the Moon,” “Monks and the Red Guards,” and “Trial by Fire” for instance, Mr. Luo said that the coordination of aesthetics and traditional culture, coupled with the unique combination of the dynamic backdrops and [dancers’ performance], allows Shen Yun to perfectly interpret the broadness and profundity of the 5,000 years of Chinese culture.
Having seen many artistic performances on the two sides of the Taiwan Straits and other countries, Mr. Luo said, “Shen Yun is the first show that demonstrates traditional arts without losing its relevance to the modern world. Its technique is amazingly good.”
“Nowadays, the artistic performances in Mainland China are nothing more than politically motivated shows, which tend to make the audience doze off,” he stressed. “But Shen Yun performance is very natural and cheerful without a feeling of pressure, so that it can keep the audience’s full attention.”
Referring to his thoughts provoked by the dance dramas “Monks and the Red Guards” and “Trial by Fire,” he said, “When doing anything, we should follow the course of nature, and anything contrary to nature may lead to being cursed by heaven.”
Knowing the fact that Shen Yun is widely praised by people from all walks of life around the globe but is forbidden to perform in Mainland China, Mr. Luo expressed his hope: “[I hope] people in Mainland China can enjoy freedom and liberty like those in Taiwan and Western countries, so that they are soon able to see such a magnificent performance.”
