UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill.—Shen Yun Performing Arts gave a beautiful presentation to an appreciative audience at the Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University on April 10.
Diane Ware, a home health care professional and dancer, called Shen Yun “excellent, magical, and beautiful.”
Shen Yun has performed around the world to introduce audiences to the beauty of traditional Chinese culture before communism. Said to be divinely inspired, ancient Chinese culture has many stories and legends that give messages of positive energy and hope.
With her training in dance, Ms. Ware noticed the precision of every part of the production. “The dancers were on target. Everything was on target. Everything. The time, the show started on time. The dancers were on time. They lined up beautifully,” she said.
Ms. Ware was impressed. “Let’s just say that it’s a must-see show over and over again,” she said. “You never get tired of looking at it because it’s beautiful. It’s very exciting. It’s eye-catching.”
Shen Yun has touched many audience members and Ms. Ware said the performance spoke to her.
“I’m going to put it this way. From my heart, I'll say, very spiritual. From my heart, very spiritual.”
“The language of the dance resonates here and here and for your feet. It brings peace to your heart, peace,” she said.
The hosts explain that Shen Yun means “the beauty of divine beings dancing” and Ms. Ware felt this gave her pure, beautiful, and positive feelings.
“The mind is meditative. A meditative consciousness. And the heart is peace. Peace and, I give you one more: warmth. Warmth and peace. And for the mind, meditative consciousness,” she said.
“Like I said, [Shen Yun] brings peace and meditative consciousness. The message I got was to appreciate the beauty that God gives you, and use the art of gift, what he instills in you. Use it all the time. Never lose it,” she said.
Audience members everywhere have said that Shen Yun presents what true beauty and compassion are really about.
“You all look at life beautifully. The colors, the grass how green it is. Your country like it’s very clean and it’s warm and peaceful. It’s inviting. Inviting. Yes inviting,” she said.
