TAINAN, Taiwan –“We need to stand up for what we believe in and agree with, and we should never fear any challenge, ”said Hsu Han-tsung, after seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts.
Mr. Hsu, the CEO of Milan Hair Salon with 33 branches in Taiwan, attended Shen Yun’s opening performance in Taiwan at the Tainan Municipal Cultural Center on Feb. 20. Valuing education and training, Mr. Hsu invited over 30 of his staff so they could watch Shen Yun together.
Mr. Hsu often leads his staff to participate in public service and charity, so he was particularly impressed by the last program, Buddha’s Compassion Shines Forth. “Having the power of Buddha’s compassion behind them enables Falun Gong practitioners to insist on their belief even under persecution,” he said.
The art supervisor of Milan, Mandy, said that Shen Yun’s colors attracted her most. “As the different layers of colors projects at the audience, it’s like a very strong power attracting you,“ she said. ”Because that light is particularly brilliant, the colors look quite rich and gorgeous. So I feel really happy when watching Shen Yun. It gives me a strong feeling of energy.”
The education supervisor, Wu Tzu-yi, was astonished by the first program. She said, “It was like a surge of electricity traveling up from my feet to my head. I cannot describe that kind of feeling. I was completely stunned by the dances, costumes, colors, music, and the entire layout!”
Mr. Wu felt that Shen Yun conveys the message about truthfulness, compassion, and beauty. “Through such an art performance, we felt as if we were in the show,“ she said. ”It inspires everyone’s spirituality.”
“The solos are full of power. After the show I felt that I was filled with energy, as if my entire body had been cleansed,” Mandy added.
Artist: Shen Yun Awakens People’s Hearts
Wu Fengming, a painter who is a member of board of directors of the Tainan City Portrait Artists Association and president of Yi Mei Tang Arts Gallery, once again came to see Shen Yun.
Mr. Wu was impressed by soprano Yu Ning’s performance. “The soprano presented the grace of Buddha, Creator, God, with Western bel canto, reminding us to transmit His love and doctrine to the world.”
“Cultivators, not fearing the authorities’ repression and persecution, reincarnated in the mundane world only for reviving people’s faith in gods and pursuit of Tao,” he added, “which is also the will of gods—awakening people’s hearts.”
Mr. Wu said that being influenced by the media, modern people tend to forget their original, true selves. However, Shen Yun embedded traditional Chinese culture, such as Buddhism, Taoism, Yi Jing, and the Chinese metaphysics in its performance, so as to enlighten people back to our purest hearts.
“After you enlighten to all these elements, you should spread them to others and awaken them,” he concluded.
