OXFORD, UK—Shen Yun Performing Arts entertained and amazed the audience at the New Theatre in Oxford.
Describing the all-new production for the 2025 season, Ruby and Shaun Guranna were “lost for words.” Mrs. Guranna, a care home administrator, called the performance “mind blowing.”
“I don’t want it to finish. Honestly. I’m lost for words,” she said.
Mr. Guranna, the manager of the care home, said, “I’m lost for words. I want it to go on and on and on. It’s really, really atmospheric.” He said everything in the performance was wonderful. “It’s just the whole thing, you know ... the coordination, the dance—It’s everything.”
“It’s like she said, it’s amazing! It’s out of this world,” said Mr. Guranna.
Mrs. Guranna liked the deeper message of each dance.
“Every dance—There is like a moral behind it,” she said. “It’s very, very amazing. I had tears in my eyes! It’s so beautiful, so beautiful.”
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive authentic Chinese culture and showcase the 5,000 years of Chinese culture before communism, with traditional values passed down from the heavens by the Divine.
Mr. Guranna said he’s been to China several times and even studied Chinese. “There’s so much behind every action,” he said. “It represents something dear to them. and that they should show the world the 5000 years before communism. That’s how China was.”
Mrs. Guranna was very touched by this connection with the Divine. “Oh, that struck my heart honestly. That struck my heart. I had tears in my eyes, honestly. You should feel it inside.”
To the performers, Mrs. Guranna expressed her gratitude. “Oh, yes, amazing, amazing job. Amazing dance. Everything so coordinated, so well rehearsed. Oh my god, amazing!”
“It’s like they’ve done that all their lives,” Mr. Guranna said.
