COSTA MESA, Calif.—Broker Vincent Kraus said this year’s performance of Shen Yun at Costa Mesa’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts was “absolutely amazing, just breathtaking,” adding that it’s even better than the last time he saw the performance years ago.
One of the standout parts, he says, is the positivity emanating from the performers on stage to the audience.
“They could really feel it even though they’re not saying a word. Just their performance, it’s just absolutely amazing,” Mr. Kraus said after watching the performance on Saturday afternoon.
“You just have to think about how well-disciplined everybody is and what a great attitude. And then it pushes that good attitude to everybody in the auditorium,” he said. ”Their attitude is just so overwhelming though,” he said of the positivity emanating from the stage.
Shen Yun programs feature more than a dozen vignettes, including musical solos, classical Chinese dance, and ethnic and folk dances.
Mr. Kraus said he was very impressed with the discipline and dedication of the performers.
“The men are really unbelievable too on the somersaults,” he said.
He also emphasized that the patented backdrop was very enjoyable.
Shen Yun’s one-of-a-kind digital backdrop interacts with the dancers, who appear to jump in and out of the background in sync with the music and story.
“I love the production in the background,” he said. “It’s an amazing performance.”
