AUSTIN, Texas— After watching Shen Yun Performing Arts, Roberta Benson, a founding partner of Benson and Maston Law Firm, was impressed that Shen Yun is bringing back the ancient Chinese culture.
According to the Shen Yun website, “For 5,000 years divine culture flourished in the land of China. Humanity’s treasure was nearly lost, but through breathtaking music and dance, Shen Yun is bringing back this glorious culture.”
Ms. Benson appreciated that the New York-based Shen Yun artists want to honor and preserve the traditions and culture.
“It’s just very fun and interesting to see the culture. It’s very impressive,” she said.
Noting the hundreds of colorful costumes in the performance as well as the animated digital backdrops portraying beautiful scenes behind the dancers, Ms. Benson commended Shen Yun for combining many different elements into one performance.
“I’ve seen a lot of dance. We enjoy dance and we try to go to dance programs a lot, but I’ve never seen one that incorporated all of those different elements of making the fabrics and the colors part of the performance,” Ms. Benson said.
As for the dancers, Ms. Benson said they are “very athletic, and at the same time—athleticism and grace combined.”
“The colors are phenomenal. The movements are so precise and so poetic,” said Ms. Andrews.
