CHARLESTON, S.C.—Shen Yun Performing Arts delighted the audience at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on April 19.
Lenore Taylor, a retired real estate and insurance company owner, brought her friends this time. She said, “I’ve seen [Shen Yun] three times in North Carolina, and I encouraged my friends to come down to Charleston and see it. We’re excited.”
She had a very positive impression of the performance. “Oh, I love it. The scenery and everything that’s going on.”
Ms. Taylor could not choose one dance that she preferred. “Oh my goodness ... so wonderful,” she said, but she did like the love story. “That was very nice.”
Ms. Taylor gave her view on the moral of the story. “Well, we can’t get what we want. That was for sure. But it was nice,” she said.
Shen Yun features a live orchestra that has Eastern and Western instruments. The music accompanies the dances and makes the stage performance special.
Ms. Taylor said It’s important to know about China’s traditional culture. “Sure. Because we need to know what you do, and you need to know what we do. A lot of people don’t. They don’t understand the traditions and different things. And it’s very good to have those things,” She said.
To the performers, Ms. Taylor said, “You are absolutely beautiful, talented, and I admire you very much.”
