ATLANTA—Ron Boggs and Cathy Slack were in attendance for Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta on Dec. 28.

“I thought it was fabulous,” said Ms. Slack. “I loved the ability and flexibility of the dancers to move.”

Shen Yun incorporates classical Chinese dance, a rigorous and complex art form with its own set of training methods in basic skills and strict training in both physical expression and specific postures.

“It was a beautiful show,” added Mr. Boggs, who works in communications company.

Despite the fact that Shen Yun cannot be seen in China today, where traditional values have been undermined for 60 years under the rule of the communist regime, Shen Yun continues to perform around the world. By connecting audiences with China’s divine culture through music and dance, Shen Yun brings the wonders of ancient Chinese culture to millions across the globe.

“I loved the costumes,” said Ms. Slack. “And also the voices of the singers, and the piano player was fabulous; she was great.”

Along with original costumes that portray China’s rich dynastic history, Shen Yun’s singers incorporate the difficult and complex bel canto technique alongside Shen Yun’s blend of Eastern music with a Western orchestra.

Mr. Boggs added that he really enjoyed the digital projection of Shen Yun’s backdrop. “I liked the part about the scenery about the Yellow River and the farmers portraying their parts,” he said.
