Architect and Tax Director Agree: Blown Away by Shen Yun

SEATTLE—Robert and Holly Christian agree, they were both blown away by Shen Yun Performing Arts’ New York Company on Friday night at Seattle’s Marion Oliver McCaw Hall.

Robert, a Seattle architect, said he was, “Blown away so far,” midway through the performance. Holly, tax director for Russell Investments, agreed, saying that her expectations were totally exceeded in every aspect.

Taken by both the physical and artistic aspects of the performance, she remarked enthusiastically on the visual impact: “The colors are so vibrant—the dress, the costumes, the flowing.” She found the combination of the digital backdrops with an amazing physical performance to be especially engaging.

“I’ve never seen something like this before,” she added. “It’s just so beautiful … The music, the orchestra—every aspect is just so seamlessly perfect.”

“Shen Yun cannot be seen in China today, where traditional culture has been nearly lost,” reads Shen Yun’s website. “Yet Shen Yun—a non-profit organization—has become an international phenomenon, bringing the wonders of ancient Chinese culture to millions across the globe.”

Shen Yun will be performing Saturday and Sunday at the Marion Oliver McCaw Hall.
