SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company concluded its last of three performances at the Sacramento Community Center Theater the evening of Jan. 15.
After watching the performance, Ms. Lili Li, who is from mainland China, said, “Shen Yun represents Chinese culture, which is the authentic traditional culture.”
According to the program guide, “Shen Yun’s productions draw their inspiration from China’s 5,000 years of civilization. Values such as compassion and loyalty, kindness and bravery lie at the heart of traditional Chinese culture.” It is the mission of Shen Yun Performing Arts to revive the true, divinely inspired culture of China and share it with the world.
Ms. Li continued, “As Shen Yun carries forward the Chinese nation’s classical art, I like every program it presents. In particular, the dance programs are so wonderful. It’s indeed magnificent.”
Shen Yun features classical Chinese dance, along with folk and ethnic dances from China’s many ethnic groups. In addition, story-based dances are presented including pieces from the classic novel Journey to the West and the legend of the crazy monk who swept away the corrupt official Qin Hui.
“I am very happy and very excited!” said Ms. Li. “I want to tell my friends that Shen Yun is a must-see performance, as it is traditional Chinese culture with positive energy.”
