TORONTO, Canada—Leonard and Yolanda Allen enjoyed Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time on April 7 at Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
“I was just saying to my wife, it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. So thoroughly enjoying it,” said Mr. Allen, CEO of a solar company, during intermission.
“It tells such a story,” Mr. Allen said. “It’s enlightening.”
“We’re learning what has happened, so it’s very good,” he said.
“They’re phenomenal,” Mrs. Allen said. “Very good, very well organized and trained.”
“You get a beautiful view of all these people doing their amazing job,” she said.
‘Above and Beyond’
Also in the audience was Amir Vincent, CEO of a digital design marketing company, who, too, was wowed by the performers’ abilities.“The level of skill is above and beyond. They’re really good,” Mr. Vincent said. “It’s an immersive experience.”
Mr. Vincent was especially appreciative of the opportunity to see “China before communism.”
“It just shows the other intelligence of these people from thousands of years ago, and it also shows the damage that the Communist Party did to the culture and to the music. But also they could do not much. Nothing is a long-term damage because culture will always thrive. People will always find ways and will promote each other and will promote love through other mediums, such as live shows. This is just amazing to witness.”
