VANCOUVER, Canada—Ambassador Renato Mosca, Consul-General of Brazil in Vancouver, is a lover of Chinese culture and has traveled to China many times.

On March 21, he and his wife, Luciana, attended Shen Yun’s evening performance at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and thought the performance was “a sort of enlightenment.”

“It’s a [way] to connect to heaven. You feel like you’re connected to different dimensions,” he expressed.

“I didn’t know [the artists] practiced meditation and moral development. This is very interesting because that’s precisely what we need in the world today.”

Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company. The New York-based artists’ mission is to revive China’s 5,000 years of divinely inspired culture that had been destroyed by decades of communist rule.
Presenting a brand-new set of dance pieces, musical compositions, and solo performances each year, Shen Yun is sharing with the world the glory of China before communism.
Mr. Mosca was wowed by the talent of Shen Yun’s dancers and their commitment to bringing back traditional culture.
“Their techniques are fantastic! All the traditions that are preserved and spread around the world—really touched us. I haven’t been to an event like this before. This was my first time, and I’m really impressed,” he said.
“The music and the lightness of the dances were very beautiful. They’re so synchronized all the time. It was a very nice presentation.”
The couple also thought Shen Yun’s innovative 3D backdrops were unique and interactive.

According to its website, Shen Yun’s patented 3D digital technology works with the performers to “extend the stage to infinite realms” and brings to its audience “storytelling without limits.”

Mrs. Mosca happily added she loved the dancers’ smiles. “I liked it so much! They were so happy. It’s a good thing to see. It seems that they were enjoying the show, just like us.”

Finally, the couple would like to congratulate and thank Shen Yun’s artists for the wonderful evening.

“I hope they will keep moving forward and keep doing this,” Mr. Mosca said. “Certainly, it is good for the difficult world that we are living in and going through.”
