KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—A president of the Kiwanis International Taiwan branch said Shen Yun Performing Arts was worth attending every year after the performance at the Chih-The Hall of the Kaohsiung Cultural Center on Feb. 28.

“The female dancers’ movements are very elegant. Such as in the dance of water sleeves (a dance in which female dancers wear long, flowing sleeves), their movements are super beautiful. They synchronized with each other perfectly, and their body language is very soft and graceful. They must have been trained for a long time.”

“The music matches the dance excellently. There are no words that can describe how wonderful the coordination is. It’s just super, super good,” she said.

“Such as [in one program], the Monkey King jumped from the stage and landed on the backdrop. Wow! My friends and I were all shocked at that time. The combination of the most advanced technology with the dances is really cool,” she said.

Ms. Chang was impressed by Shen Yun’s colors.

A devout Christian, Ms. Chang felt Shen Yun was full of positive energy beneficial for all theatergoers. “Attending only once isn’t enough. We should attend twice, three times, every year,” she added.

New York-based Shen Yun is the world’s top classical Chinese dance company, and has a mission to show the beauty and goodness of “China before communism.” For 5,000 years China’s civilization was built on values and virtues from the spiritual teachings of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.

Mr. Chung said he is a civil affairs officer, has faith, and frequently organizes religious events.

“I was very touched when I saw the Buddhas [in the performance],” he said. “If a person has a belief, he will influence others to be good … Shen Yun has this influence.”

“The words can inspire people to be true, good, and endure. These are the most precious characters. These are the most important values that we should learn from Shen Yun,” he said.

“The live orchestra is magnificent. .. The 3-D dynamic backdrop interacts with dancers very accurately,” he said. “[These two] perfectly coordinated with the dances. The overall performance is fabulous!”

Mr. Chen said he had watched many classical Chinese dance shows before, but had never seen any dance as beautiful and excellent as Shen Yun.

“The female dancers presented comprehensively the softness and grace of traditional Chinese ladies. The male dancers showed us force and majesty,” he said. “It’s rare to see these traditional values, such as loyalty and respect to the emperor, parents, family, and friends, in current world. Shen Yun promotes these values and delivers positive energy. I’m very touched.”

Mr. Chen said that all Shen Yun artists are extraordinary. “Their level is far beyond the normal artists,” he added.
