Sen. Cruz Accuses Key Biden Counterterrorism Nominee of Aiding Terrorists, Blocks Her Nomination

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) blocked the nomination of Elizabeth Richard, former United States ambassador to Lebanon, to be Department of State Coordinator for Anti-Terrorism put forward by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) on the Senate floor on Wednesday, accusing Richard of appeasing and aiding terrorists.
