A life of luxury in downtown Mississauga is a step closer for prospective buyers, with Solmar Developments launching the first condos in its upcoming Edge Towers development.

The three-tower property at 24 Elm Drive West is set to be the jewel in the crown of the city’s new residential offerings, blending high-quality design and craftsmanship with timeless elegance.

Designed by award-winning architect Roy Varacalli, and further developed by Daniel Cusimano of Cusimano Architect Inc, the uniquely terraced-top buildings – visible from Toronto – will be a notable feature of Mississauga’s skyline.

At the grand opening of Edge Towers’ sales centre and model suite on Saturday, Solmar’s general manager Giuseppe Paolicelli said sophisticated buyers will enjoy the thoughtful planning and design, attention to detail, outstanding craftsmanship, and dedication to grand living that Edge Towers offers.

Paolicelli says “the Solmar touch” sets the first 35-storey tower apart, with residents of 293 condos set to experience the superior standard of luxury that the developer’s elegant Bellaria Residences and Parkview Heights properties have become known for.

“We have a different way of doing things, and we like doing things at a different level, a higher level than the norm,” Paolicelli says.

“Our floor plans are probably the best I’ve ever seen out there – they’re just flawless.”

Each condo boasts a rich yet classic interior, with nine-foot ceilings, wide floorboards and neutral tones offering owners a refined space to unwind.

Surrounded by lush green spaces and a public park complete with play areas for kids, Edge Towers’ first tower features luxury guest suites, and premier entertaining areas, including two party rooms and a rooftop terrace with a unique circular fireplace.

For residents’ enjoyment, there’s theatre room and WiFi lounge, plus a state-of-the-art gym and yoga studio, while a 24-hour concierge ensures an exceptional living experience every day.

“When you move into this building, it’s like living in a hotel – a lot of hotels have that luxurious feel to them. That’s our philosophy,” Paolicelli says. “You want quality, and you’ll get it here.”

Tower one features a mix of one-bedroom to two + den condos now selling from $319,000, with suites up to 1280 sq. f t. yet to come.

With the future Hurontario light-rail transit (LRT) line literally on its doorstep, and the grand Square One Shopping Centre a short walk away, Edge Towers promises well-connected downtown living. Within the three-tower community, there will be 1,200 condominium residences with retail space and a daycare centre.

Scott Davie, president of Davie Real Estate, the broker responsible for sales of the condos, says from the moment prospective buyers enter the specially-designed sales centre, they’ll note the timeless elegance of the marble and granite finishes, and light classical tones, and feel a sense of what life at Edge Towers will offer.

“In the model suite, they see all the standard finishes, and they really feel the quality of the product they’re going to have an opportunity to buy. When they see how it compares to our competitors, it’s head and shoulders above in quality,” he says.

Davie likens the prime, well-connected location to living along the Yonge Street subway line. “People can get much more value for their money and live a similar lifestyle here on the main downtown corridor of Mississauga.”

He expects a great deal of interest to come from Chinese buyers, who comprise part of the largest minority ethnic group in Mississauga.

“The Chinese community is very well-known to be savvy in knowing what’s good, and what to look for in real estate. They recognize the value of the location, the proximity to the LRT, the quality of the builder, the quality of finishes and the floor plans amenities.”

Those important factors, Davie says, will lend to a higher resale value for the condos.

Melding classical and contemporary for a feeling of modern permanence, the well-appointed condo interiors create an atmosphere of relaxation and comfort that’s articulated but not overwhelming, allowing buyers the opportunity to personalize their space.

“We use a lot of stone, we use a lot of design elements and accents that give you enough richness in the interior so that as a person that lives here and occupies the space, you have the freedom to develop your own lifestyle,” says Adriana Mot ‎of Dochia Interior Design.

Thoughtful and unique design elements, from a circular fireplace in the lobby to a unique running strip in the gym, show Solmar’s dedication to tailoring to their discerning market.

On Saturday, Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie helped cut the ribbon at the tower one launch, and praised Solmar’s vision for Edge Towers.

“This is a premium location, because it’s right on the LRT corridor, right on Hurontario, and we’re very excited. Solmar do excellent work, it’s a very premium build. This is really a first for Mississauga to have that quality here, right on Hurontario.”
