When the first phase of Edge Towers in the heart of vibrant downtown Mississauga opened recently, it was met with resounding success from purchasers who appreciated its fabulous location, cutting-edge architecture and beautiful interior design.

Now Solmar Development Corporation is releasing 93 suites on the 27th to 37th floors of Edge Towers, including penthouse, podium and terrace residences, giving discriminating buyers an opportunity to choose from the finest suites in the building. As well as superior design, some of the units have oversized balconies, extending living and entertaining space to the outdoors. The new release includes suites of 484 to 1,300 square feet in size, priced from $319,900.

The new suite release launch is Saturday, January 27 at 11 a.m. at 24 Elm Drive West in Mississauga. Potential buyers can also view the designer decorated model suite.

Edge Towers’ location provides a complete lifestyle, where transit and almost every conceivable amenity is a short walk away, including the Mississauga Civic Centre, Celebration Square (site of festivals throughout the year and a skating rink in winter), the Living Arts Centre, the Central Library, YMCA Centre, Playdium and Cineplex Cinemas.

Scott Davie, president of Davie Real Estate, the firm handling sales and marketing for Edge Towers, says the project offers an extensive choice of floors plans, with 39 in all.

Internationally renowned architect Roy Varacalli of Cusimano Architects designed the building “from the inside out, which allows us to have fantastic floor plans that maximize space and efficiency,” says Davie. “This is an advantage over buildings where the exterior is designed first, as this can lead to awkwardly designed suites because they have to conform to the architecture of the building and may have long hallways and wasted space.”

“When you have superior floor plans, your suite is more enjoyable to live in, you have pride of ownership and you’ll enjoy higher resale value,” says Davie. “From an investment perspective, you’re able to rent a suite out for more money.

“Solmar brought together a great team of consultants for this project. They wanted to give purchasers an advantage,” adds Davie.

Edge Towers, at 26 Elm Drive West, near Hurontario and Burnhamthorpe, will be just steps from the new LRT station, part of 20 kilometres of rapid transit between the Port Credit GO station in Mississauga to the Gateway Terminal at Steeles Ave. in Brampton. It will provide connections to Lakeshore West rail lines, MiWay, Brampton Transit, and the Mississauga Transitway BRT (Bus Rapid Transit). Edge Towers be within minutes of major highways including the QEW, 401 and 403. The Mississauga Bus Terminal is a seven-minute walk away at Square One, the largest shopping centre in Ontario. A host of restaurants, stores, services, and more are within walking distance, making it easy to enjoy a true live, work, and play lifestyle.

Edge Towers’ high standards are evident in the suite appointments, with standard features such as 9-foot ceilings, premium wide-plank laminate flooring, frameless glass shower doors, upgraded baseboards, and kitchens with quality cabinetry, under-valance lighting, quartz countertops, and high-grade appliances. Dochia Interior Design is the designer.

The building offers the full range of amenities including guest suites, Wi-Fi lounge, fitness centre, media room and more, and the Towers community park will include a children’s play area, a dog walking park, Wifi charging stations, and seating areas to accommodate families who are choosing the condo lifestyle.

Mississauga, which is the GTA’s second largest condo market behind Toronto, represents excellent value for buyers, as its prices are about half those in the big city. With prices of about $600 per square foot on average, Mississauga is becoming the affordable, alternative choice for a lot of home buyers.

Several new major developments are coming to Mississauga, which will boost its reputation as a progressive, modern city. Chinese Canadians form one of the largest ethnic groups in the city and have been buying homes in the city for more than 20 years.

“Chinese buyers are a dominant force in the Mississauga real estate market”, says Davie, “and they are highly sophisticated buyers who appreciate the type of quality and luxury that Edge Towers offers.”

Solmar has been building single family, condominium buildings and commercial properties across the Greater Toronto Area for 29 years. Its projects are distinguished by elegant interior designs and attention to detail that often results in a higher resale value than other local properties.
