Reactions to Texas Lawsuit Dismissal

Updated:

Americans have been reacting to the Supreme Court’s decision to not consider the Texas case on potential for election fraud in the November election.

SCOTUS threw out the case for a “lack of standing”—meaning that the justices decided there wasn’t a strong enough connection showing that the four disputed states harmed Texas.

Spokesman for the Biden campaign, Mike Gwin, said the Supreme Court “decisively and speedily rejected“ what he called Trump’s ”attacks on the democratic process.”

Pennsylvania’s attorney general echoed the remark, saying the nation’s highest court saw through what he called a “seditious abuse of our electoral process.” He added this should make “anyone contemplating further attacks on our election think twice.”

But White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told Fox that in her view, the Supreme Court “dodged” and “hid behind procedure and they refused to use their authority to enforce the Constitution.”

An attendee of “Stop the Steal” and the “Jericho March” echoed similar sentiments.

Joe Visconti, president of the American Shakespeare Theatre, told NTD: “What the Supreme Court did yesterday, with not even hearing the case, from 22 states ... not even listening to it because of a technicality? Technicality?! We’re about to have a revolution in America and they’re worried about a technicality.”

In a statement, the chairman of the Texas GOP floated the idea of secession, saying that perhaps law-abiding states should “bond together and form a Union of States.”

He said in tossing the case, the court “decreed that a state can take unconstitutional actions and violate its own election law,” referring to the battleground states.

President Donald Trump also reacted to the news, saying the Supreme Court “really let us down” and lacked wisdom and courage.

He elaborated, writing the court had “zero interest in the merits of the greatest voter fraud ever perpetrated in the United States of America.”

But, he added, “We have just begun to fight.”
