DAEGU, South Korea—Dr. Choi Woo-Won, Professor of Philosophy at the Pusan National University, was one of the celebrities who were attracted to the magnificent show staged by Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company at Suseong Artpia in Daegu City on Feb. 17.

“Shen Yun pointed out the path to hope for humanity in a very touching form of the arts,” he said.

Shen Yun, based in New York, tours the world with aim of revising China’s 5,000 years of traditional civilization, practically destroyed by the communist regime, according to Shen Yun’s website.

He explained, “After seeing Shen Yun, I feel that nowadays, scientific civilization is advanced, but spiritual civilization is degenerated. At this juncture, we especially need performances like Shen Yun. When the level of art reaches a very high level, art would be merged with the sacred world mentioned in religion. And the art can tell people the nature of our life in the world as well as the path of returning to our original true selves. Given the above, Shen Yun does tell us this kind of message.”

“The beauty we feel through our sensory organs is something on the surface, but what we really should enlighten to is the value of beauty.”

“The meaning and nature of our coming into existence is entering the compassionate world with the spirit of compassion and kindness. Only the arts with this feature can truly move people. However, the messages passed to us by arts through our sensory organs do not contain the truth about life, as what they convey to us is nothing but something on the surface. Only the exquisite arts can truly touch our hearts and let us enlighten to the meaning of life.”

Many values and traditions were lost in the decades after the Chinese Communist Party took power in China.

“The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) materialism is false, as it’s not the original Chinese civilization. The original Chinese civilization is the 5,000 years of civilization, and it’s something truly belonging to China … The false civilization of CCP and the North Korean Communist Party will disappear eventually.”

“Today’s science and technology seem to be quite advanced. Because of that, human beings have been mistakenly deluded in illusions. Due to their spiritual degeneration, people nowadays commit crimes at will. People are living in a very dangerous situation. Among them is the Chinese communist regime’s massacre of Falun Gong practitioners.”

“Shen Yun will certainly perform in the mainland China. The CCP has started to collapse from the inside. That’s why CCP is extremely afraid of Shen Yun. People under CCP’s rule will gradually realize the true nature of the world in their hearts. They will also gradually understand which direction they should go, what the true meaning of Chinese civilization and history is.”

He concluded, “Shen Yun points out the path to hope in a very touching artistic form. Therefore, Shen Yun will also have a tremendous impact on the artistic and philosophic circles in South Korea. Can the artistic circles nowadays lead us to the great spiritual world that sages left to us? This is something that needs to be contemplated. Shen Yun lets us enlighten to these things, so it is indeed a high level performance.”
